The ingredients needed to make Multi grain rice:
  1. Take 1 cup Rice
  2. Get 1/2 cup Green moon dhal
  3. Prepare 1/2 cup Lentil
  4. Prepare 1/2 cup Black eye bean
  5. Get 1/2 cup Corn
  6. Take 1/2 cup Peas
  7. Get 8 Beans cut long pieces
  8. Prepare 1 Carrot big, (cut into cubes)
  9. Take 1 tbsp Tamarind paste
  10. Get 10 Small onion
  11. Get 3 tbsp Ghee
  12. Make ready To grind:
  13. Take 8 Red chillies
  14. Make ready 1 tbsp Whole coriander
  15. Get 1 tsp Cumin
  16. Take 1/2 tsp Fenugreek
  17. Make ready 1 tsp gram dal
  18. Prepare 1 tsp Urad dhal
  19. Make ready For tempering-
  20. Get 1 tsp Mustard seed
  21. Make ready 4 Dry red chillies
  22. Get Few Curry leaves
  23. Get 2 tbsp oil
  24. Prepare to taste Salt

Tilt the pot and pour out the water, then scrub and rub the grains by hand to remove excess starch. Fill the pot with water again, stir, scrub, and pour out the water again. The multi grains provided a nice crunchy texture with additional flavour, nutrients and fiber. On its own, I think the multi-grains are not too palpable (a bit too dry) but when mixed with white rice, especially short grain rice, the mixed rice really comes together.

Steps to make Multi grain rice:
  1. Wash and soak rice, pulses and legumes and vegetables for 15 mins.
  2. Cook 1:2 ratio in cooker with salt and 1tbs ghee, After the 1st whistle, reduces the flame and keep for 8 mins.
  3. Let it cool, now dry fry all the ingredients and grind as powder.
  4. Keep a pan add 1tbs oil, fry onion and keep. In the same pan add oil, tempering mustard seed, dry chilli, curry leaves and add with rice and add ground powder also. Now add 1cup hot water with tamarind paste and salt. Mix well. Sprinkle coriander leaves and 1tbs ghee. If the consistency is too thick then add more hot water,.
  5. Serve healthy and tasty rice with papad.
